Press Photo

Marcus's exciting guitar playing, thoughtful lyrics, and engaging style of songwriting will make you stand up and pay attention. Either playing gentle acoustic guitar, or energetic post-punk/indie-rock, the Australian guitarist, singer, and songwriter shows no signs of slowing down.

Marcus Wynwood’s resume is as extensive as it is impressive. Not only a founding member of punk-rock band Captives, but he’s also riffed to crowds from the Falls Festival main stage, Party In The Paddock, The Envol et Macadam Festival (Quebec), various Festivals around Australia as well as support slots for COG, Shihad, Tumbleweed, The Damned, and 28 Days to name a few.

In 2020, the ARIA Performing Artist and D'Addario Endorsed Artist focused his attention on his solo work releasing "Something In My Eye" in 2021, "Little Space" in 2022 and "Simulation" in November 2023 which was quickly followed up by a 6 track EP in December 2023. The EP "Killerbites" has been met with fantastic reviews.

Hysteria Mag gave Killerbites 8/10 and said "he has crafted something remarkable in Killerbites.", "He could play Falls Festival one night and a Day on the Green the next."

"The EP is a collection of six songs featuring honest and artful songwriting, incredible guitars and precision production. These tunes have a ferocity and tautness, which skillfully convey all the feelings of growing and maturing, with passionate melodies and blistering guitars." - The AU Review

Featured in Australian Guitar Magazine as a "Guitarist to Watch", Marcus has well and truly earned his title.

"It's layered vocal delivery, absolutely epic guitar work and fast paced vibe showcase Wynwood’s talent as a top shelf songwriter." - AAA Backstage

"The songwriting is just so good, he's turning into quite the songwriter." - Triple M

"Certified Banger! One helluva heavy-hitter." - Hysteria Mag
