Marcus Wynwood

Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter

Press Photo

After close to a decade writing and touring in his band, the ARIA Performing Artist and D'Addario Endorsed artist Marcus Wynwood has recently smashed back onto the scene focusing his attention on his solo work. Featured in Australian Guitar Magazine as a “Guitarist to Watch”, Marcus has well and truly earned that title, and this Australian guitarist, singer, and songwriter shows no signs of slowing down in 2023.

Marcus Wynwood’s resume is as extensive as it is impressive. Not only a founding member of punk-rock band Captives, but he’s also riffed to crowds from the Falls Festival main stage, Party In The Paddock, The Envol et Macadam Festival (Canada), various festivals and tours around Australia as well as playing support slots for COG, Shihad, Tumbleweed, 28 Days, The Sweet, The Damned, and Ian Moss to name a few. Marcus has been a finalist in the APRA PD Awards, and has performed hundreds of local shows, as well as touring interstate and overseas.

Before focusing on his solo work, Marcus was a founding member and guitarist in "Captives", an Australian punk rock band. Marcus cowrote, toured, and played guitar on every release since starting the band in 2013 through to 2020. Captives and Marcus were signed to Cooking Vinyl, Inertia Music, and The Harbour Agency. Add in that he is also an accomplished producer, and that's a lot of feathers in his cap. He has produced and recorded a number of artists, including Alpha Wolf, Catchpenny, Justin Heazlewood, Ventilate and Mankind.

"It's layered vocal delivery, absolutely epic guitar work and fast paced vibe showcase Wynwood’s talent as a top shelf songwriter." - AAA Backstage
